Retrofitting diesel engines to reduce a business’ dependence on burning diesel alone has become much easier. The addition of a gas train, an air-gas mixer and a control panel/HMI requires no modifications to the core engine system or its diesel components. Today’s dual fuel systems offer one-button switchback or automatically switch to diesel-only mode when required — meaning the same performance in a wide ranges of applications and temperatures while reducing fuel costs and emissions. Optiblend® has developed a closed-loop displacement algorithm embedded in its controller to allow the system to automatically adjust to changing gas composition (BTU value specifically) without needing to recommission the system.
